Germany gives 92.5 million euros in economic aid to Jordan Amman  - Two agreements were signed in Amman Thursday under which the German government extended 92.5 million euros (122.8 million dollars) in economic aid to Jordan, an official statement said.

The two accords, part of the German development cooperation programme with Jordan for the fiscal year 2008-2009, were signed by the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair al-Ali and the German ambassador in Amman Joachim Heidorn.

"We view with real concern the proposed demolitions in East Jerusalem," Miliband told a press conference he jointly addressed with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh.

"Jerusalem should be the capital of the Palestinians and Israel," he said.

Jordan's king to visit Japan on SundayAmman - King Abdullah II of Jordan is to pay a working visit to Japan starting on Sunday, the royal court announced Wednesday.

During the visit, which is due to last for several days, the monarch will meet Emperor Akitio and hold talks with Prime Minister Taro Aso that focus on latest developments in the Middle East, particularly efforts under way to spur peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, a royal court statement said.

The discussions will also tackle means of boosting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic spheres, it added.

"The United Nations and the world community have an important role to play in launching serious negotiations aimed at bringing about a settlement for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," Judeh told the visiting US envoy.
