 Fidelity raises stake in Satyam to 10.17 per centMumbai, Mar 2 : Even as the Satyam Board is still in the process of finding a strategic investor, Fidelity Management and Research LLC (FMR LLC) has hiked its stake in the company to 10.17 per cent with the purchase of 18.27 lakh worth of shares.

Fidelity now holds 6.85 crore shares of Satyam Computers.

The board of the two companies unanimously approved the merger under which Reliance Petroleum shareholders would be offered one share of Reliance Industries for every 16 Reliance Petroleum shares, the release said.

Congress demands 25 seats in UP, SP offers 17New Delhi, Mar 2 : UP Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi said on Monday that the party would like to contest at least 25 seats in the Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to the reporters here, she expressed her confidence that a consensus would be reached with Samajwadi Party, the alliance partner.

The Samajwadi Chief Mulayam Singh and party General Secretary Amar Singh had met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on March 1 and clarified that their party would not give more than 17 seats to the Congress.

Community Radio Station to come up in Sirsa''s Chaudhary Devilal University

New Delhi, Mar 2 : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement for establishing, maintaining and operating a Community Radio Station (CRS) at Tagore Bhawan, Chaudhary Devilal University.

The CRS is expected to be operational within three months as per the agreement.

Chaudhary Devi Lal University was established by the Government of Haryana by an Act of Legislature in the year 2003 and was inaugurated on April 5, 2003.

The University has been running 16 academic departments, which offer 21 career oriented and specialized courses to the students.

The tie-up was announced at a joint press conference addressed by Singh, BJP''s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Convener Sharad Yadav.

Former Union Minister Ajit Singh''s outfit, built mainly on a Jat support-base, will be allowed to contest in seven Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

These include Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Nagina, Amroha, Hathras and Sitapur.

Over 14.5 lakh students appear for CBSE board exams todayNew Delhi, Mar 2: Over 14.5 lakh students are appearing in their class 10th and 12th Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations today.

The class 10th examinations will be held at 2,714 centres and class 12th at 2,506 centres across the country.

About 8,24,438 students including 4,87,475 boys and 3,36,963 girls would take the class 10th examinations, while 6,37,578 including 3,73,330 boys and 2,64,248 girls would appear for class 12th exams.
