Two ULFA activists killed in AssamNew Delhi, Jan. 10 : Security forces in Assam, reacting swiftly after yesterday's IED blast in Guwahati, have neutralized two ULFA cadres, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

In a joint operation carried out by the Army and the Assam Police early this morning, one suspected ULFA cadre, Dinesh Boro was killed. Boro is believed to be an explosives expert, who was involved in earlier blasts in the state.

Another ULFA activist, Kaushal Das was killed by the security forces in Baksa District of the said, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

New Delhi, January 10 : American health experts are worried that people may gain weight despite reducing the amount of money they spend on food in response to the global economic crisis, as numerous studies have linked obesity and unhealthy eating habits to low incomes.

The experts say that reducing food spending would mean that people cut back on healthy items like fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains in favour of cheaper options that are high in sugar and saturated fats, reports China View.

Super Hit Ghajini crosses the Rs 200 crore mark

The latest news is that the movie on Wednesday became the first Hindi movie to gross Rs 200 crore at the box office worldwide.

The film earned more than Rs 162 crore in the domestic market and Rs 39 crore overseas.

Trade consultant Amod Mehra said, "The film was strong from day One. It has been galloping like a one-horse race and, in my estimate; it will cross the Rs-250-crore (gross) mark very easily."

NZC reports that Cricket-Decision on extending India tour due next week

New Zealand Cricket BoardOn Friday, it was announced by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) that by next week a decision on whether a third test will be added to India's tour of New Zealand in March would be made.

With the aim to help recover lost revenue from cancelled events, Indian officials had asked their New Zealand counterparts to consider adding a test to the journey.

The Indian team would get quite busy as from 6th March till 7th April they are scheduled to play two tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international in New Zealand.
