Incidents like Singur shake investor confidence: Software Industry

TATA Nano Plant, SingurHyderabad, Sept 10: States need to protect investors against farmland acquisition rows as such incidents have a bearing on investors’ confidence, feel the country’s software industry entrepreneurs in the wake of protests over Tata Motors 'Nano' small car project in Singur.

They say the row over land acquisition in Singur has been a blow to investors.

Two killed, one injured in Hyderabad Cessna crash

HyderabadNew Delhi, Sept 8 : A trainee pilot and an instructor, on board a two-seater Cessna got killed on Monday when it crashed in a residential area in Hyderabad.

One resident was also injured in the crash.

The Cessna 152 aircraft crashed in the Sanath Nagar west area as soon as it took off from Begumpet airport. The aircraft crashed into an electric pole in the residential area.

The aircraft belonged to the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy.

Astra Microwave bags order worth Rs 25.5 crore

Astra Microwave bags order worth Rs 25.5 croreHyderabad-headquartered Astra Microwave Products has informed that it has secured an order worth Rs 25.5 crore from Indian Meteorological Department.

The contract involves supply, installation and commissioning of remote unmanned automatic weather stations at 550 locations across India.

The order is scheduled to be executed by year 2009.

Astra Microwave Products Limited designs, develops, and manufactures components and sub-systems for microwave wireless communications systems used in defense, space, and civilian applications.

Mold Tek to acquire two US-based KPO firms

Mold-Tek Technologies LimitedHyderabad based Mold-Tek Technologies Limited has informed that it will acquire 100% stake in two engineering Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) companies namely US-based RMM Global LLC and its associate company technet Engineering Services, Thane.

However, the company did not disclose the value of the deal.

Both the companies are involved in providing structural engineering KPO services to high rise buildings in USA with annual revenues pegged at $ 2 million.

Nagarjuna Construction secures three orders worth Rs 474 crore

Nagarjuna Construction Company LimitedHyderabad-based infrastructure major Nagarjuna Construction (NCCL) has bagged three orders worth Rs 474 crore from various firms.

The company has bagged first order worth Rs 252 crore from Engineers India for development of sports facilities and associated infrastructure development work for Commonwealth Games-2010 at North Campus, Delhi University. The project will be completed over a period of 18 months.
