Ahmedabad, Apr 11 : The travel business in Gujarat is likely to decline this year due to general elections.

Travel agents in Gujarat fear that they may see a decline of 25-30 percent in business. Many voters in the state have postponed their vacation trips in order to cast their votes.

Considering the upcoming elections, tourists from Gujarat are afraid of travelling to troubled regions like Jammu and Kashmir.

Ahmedabad, Apr 9 : The bookings for Nano, the world's cheapest car, began here on Thursday.

The booking amount ranges between Rs. 2,850 and Rs. 4,110.

While the base model of the car `Tata Nano Std' is priced at Rs. 95, 000, the other variants `Tata Nano CX' and `Tata Nano LX' are available at Rs. 1,20,000 and Rs. 1,40,000 respectively. Customers can either pay the entire booking amount themselves or seek financing of the booking amount.

A large number of people visited the Tata Motors showroom to enquire about the bookings of the car.

Rajkot, Apr 7 : College students in large numbers flocked to the Tata showroom in Rajkot to have a glimpse of the world''s cheapest car ''Nano''

Manjari, a prospective customer, said the car would be a craze among college students.

"Today, I have booked a Nano. We have come for its test drive. I think it will be craze among college students. It''s comfortable to sit and drive," said Manjari.

Meeta said it was a dream car.

A group of Youth Congress members burnt an effigy of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi in City Light area of Surat on Sunday morning.

These members charged Rahul for selecting wrong people to oversee the recently held Youth Congress elections in Surat.

It is learnt that the activists, led by Rajesh Jain, who was a candidate for the elections from the Majura gate constituency and lost the polls after garnering just five votes shouted slogans against Rahul Gandhi.
