Brigade Enterprises enters Dubai realty marketReal estate major Brigade Enterprises, has informed that the company has opened its first worldwide office in Dubai.

The source close to the company revealed that the office is located at Atrium Centre, Bank Street, Bur Dubai.

While commenting on the occasion, Mr. M R Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Enterprises stated, “Indian real estate sector has seen phenomenal growth and there are Indians abroad who are looking at buying property in India for themselves and also as an investment option. As a first step to reach out to these customers, we have opened our office in Dubai.”

A British couple was sentenced on Thursday to three months in jail for having drunken sex in public on Dubai's Jumeirah beach.

Michelle Palmer, 37, a Dubai resident, Vince Acors, 34, were also fined 1,000 dirhams (271 dollars) for drinking alcohol in public.

Michelle Palmer, 37, a resident in Dubai and her visiting partner Vince Acors, 34, were also fined 1,000 dirham (202 euros) for drinking alcohol in public.

Their lawyer, Hassan Mattar, said that he would appeal against the court's verdict.

The couple was arrested in July for publicly having sex on Dubai's Jumeirah beach while in a drunken state.

Dubai ruler pumps 19 billion dollars into banking sector

Dubai - Amid the global financial crisis, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid al-Maktoum ordered a further 19 billion dollars to be pumped into the national banking sector to boost liquidity, the Emirates news agency WAM reported on Tuesday.

The decision raised the amount of money that has been pumped into the banking sector to 32.7 billion dollars over the last month.

The UAE Central bank, along with the Ministry of Finance, are to inject the money into the national banking sector.

Al-Arabiya channel's website changes domain after being hacked Dubai - Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel was forced to change it's domain to www. alarabiya. tv on Friday after its main page was hacked.

Hackers accusing the Saudi-owned TV of being pro-Sunni shut down the channel's news website in a cyber attack, claiming to be in retaliation for the recent attacks on Shiite websites.

A warning message saying: "if attacks on Shiite websites continue, none of your websites will be safe," was displayed on the front page of the site.
