Nicholas Cage to play Anwar Sadat in Egyptian TV seriesCairo  - Hollywood star Nicholas Cage will play late Egyptian president Anwar Sadat in an Egyptian television series, according to media reports Tuesday.

Cage plans to lose six kilograms before he starts shooting for the series, for which he's getting paid 40 million dollars, al-Arabiya TV reported.

Egyptian writer Anis al-Degheidy, who wrote the series, recently announced that shooting was to start mid-2009. The show is to be directed by Lebanese Youssef Sharaf.

France to give Egypt 280-million-dollar loan to finance metro lineCairo - France is to provide a 280-million-dollar loan to finance the construction of the second phase of the third metro line in Cairo, Egyptian officials said Tuesday.

The agreement came during a two-visit by French Prime Minister Francois Fillon to Egypt that ended Tuesday. The loan will be given to French companies involved in the metro project.

Fillon said France would also give Egypt 3 million euros (4.2 million dollars) over three years support development projects.

Initial reports said that at least 11 were killed in the accident, a security source told the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Nationalities of the casualties are still unidentified.
