Rajni and Kamal to participate with Nandigram Sangam
Undue loss of innocent lives that is taking place in Sri Lanka on pretext of LTTE’s removal have had a huge toll on Sri Lankans. Tamilians who form a significant part of their population have also lost their lives and in order to protest against it, the Nadigar Sangam will hold a fasting. Two of the major stars of Kollywood Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have given their consent to duly participate in the voice raised that will take place on November 1st. The fasting will take place at Nadigar Sangam office in Habibullah Road, T. Nagar in Chennai between 10 AM and 4 PM.
The actors as well as the Tamil Nadu government has urged the Nadigar Sangam to have a silent protest as the situation being of grave nature, anything said under heightened emotions can tense the whole scenario. However huge dais has been prepared at the venue in case if any of the dignitaries plans to speak up.
The proposal to have silent protest is also made taking into consideration the recent arrests of directors Ameer and Seeman that took place as the speech they delivered during the Rameshwaram protest was not in conformity to the freedom of speech entailed in the Indian law. However the directors were later released on bail.
