Rahul Gandhi would be a good Prime Minister: Tony Blair
New Delhi, Mar 21: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said here that Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has a potential of becoming a good Prime Minister.
Blair praised Rahul in an interview to a private television channel said he had high regards for the young leader, who is regarded as India's youth icon.
He said Rahul would be a good Prime Minister as he has the leadership skills.
Blair also lauded Rahul for his bold decisions for the betterment of the people and his work in the public interest. He praised Rahul for reviving the country's oldest political party by bringing in active involvement of the youth.
Appreciating the India's efforts aimed at tackling global climate woes, Blair said New Delhi has the potential to emerge as a leader in the climate battle.
Blair's comment referred to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's last month's announcement that "India would unveil a national plan to deal with the threat of global warming in June, but would not commit to any emission targets that risk slowing economic growth." Blair is in New Delhi as part of the 'Breaking the climate deadlock' initiative.
