Racist ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Du Beke snubbed from showbiz bash

Racist ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Du Beke snubbed from showbiz bashLondon, October 7 : Anton Du Beke was reportedly snubbed by his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-stars as they attended a showbiz party without him.

The dancer landed in hot water when he told show partner Laila Rouass that she looked like a “Paki” after she got a spray-tan at the BBC.

Du Beke later apologised for using the offensive term and Rouass accepted his apology.

But Rouass, who has an Indian mum and a Moroccan dad, chose to go with her Primeval co-star Lucy Brown for the Pride of Britain Awards.

“Anton was very, very noticeable by his absence – he had obviously been told to keep away,” the Daily Star quoted a guest as saying.

“Many of us thought he’d turn up with Laila to show they had put this unpleasant incident behind them.

“But either he or the BBC must have decided it would be best for him to lay low,” the guest added.

The BBC, however, denied that Du Beke had been given the cold shoulder.

A spokeswoman said: “Laila decided to take along a friend from Primeval. There’s nothing sinister in that. Anton wasn’t snubbed. We’ve accepted his apology and we are all moving on.” (ANI)
