‘Raavan’ trailer unveiled at Cannes
A trailer of the most hype movie of the year 'Raavan' was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival. Mani Ratnam's bilingual Raavan or Raavanan was screened to the media. The lead actors of the movie Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were present at this event with the director.
This was the 63rd edition of the Cannes Film Festival and there is no better platform to promote a film like 'Raavan' in front of thousands of journalists from all across the globe. Reliance Big Pictures has produced the movie and has the distribution rights as well. Amit Khanna of Reliance Big Pictures has said that Mani Ratnam is undoubtedly the best director of India in recent times.
The movie is a rare masterpiece. Taking such a movie to the international platform is exceptional. The movie will be released in 58 countries in mid-June this year. It will be in both Hindi and Tamil versions. Suhasini, Mani Ratnam's wife has said that the story of the movie was inspired from the great epic The Ramayana. She is the film's co-producer and dialogue writer for the Tamil edition as well.
