President Patil visit Dasmunsi at AIIMS
New Delhi, Oct 14 : President Pratibha Patil visited Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) today whose condition continues to be critical on the second consecutive day.
He was admitted in the AIIMS yesterday in a critical condition after suffering from a heart stroke.
The President came at about 10.12 a. m. in the morning and remained there for nearly ten minutes, Medical Superintendent of the premier health institute, Dr D K Sharma said.
"She spoke to the family members of the minister and enquired about his health," Sharma added.”
This is the second stroke Dasmunsi suffered in the past six months.
According to doctors attending on him, he had a "complete left ventricular failure" of the heart when he was admitted.
Official sources said that Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav visited the hospital to enquire about his health.
Earlier on July 8, he had suffered a heart attack and had undergone an angioplasty. Two stents were also placed in his coronary arteries. (ANI)
