Pre-owned car sales in voguePre-owned cars are surely the talk of the town for the past few months as a host of auto makers in the country, namely Toyota Kirloskar, Honda Siel, Hyundai Motors to General Motors India are expanding their pre-owned cars business to gain on the new cars sales via the exchange program.

It is to be mentioned here that Toyota Kirloskar is planning to sell almost 25-30% of its compact car Etios, which will be launched next year, through its used car outlets, Toyota You Trust. Moreover, players like GM India and Hyundai Motors India is also striving hard to expand its footprint in the used cars business.

Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director (marketing) at Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that the company currently has five outlets of Toyota You Trust but within a time span of next three years, it is planning to take the number to 50 outlets.

Moreover, Singh also highlighted the fact that the aim is to sell 25% of its new cars through Toyota You Trust. Sunil Gambhir, head of AutoTerrace, the used-car arm of Honda Siel, said that the used car programme of the company is helping it offer a complete package deal to the consumer.
