Main political parties campaign for upcoming Assembly elections in M.P.

Madhya PradeshBhind (M. P.), Nov 24 : India''s two biggest political parties, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday continued lashing at each other as they campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Addressing a public rally in Bhind District in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Sonia Gandhi slammed the BJP, the state incumbent, for its failure of fulfilling their promises as asking for an account from the ruling Congress party.

Congress communalized terror, not BJP: Shahnawaz Hussain

New Delhi, Nov 23 : Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday said that it was the history of the Congress party to communalize the terror when Indira Gandhi used to be the prime minister of the country.

Speaking on the issue of the arrest of Sadhvi Pagnya Thakur for her suspected involvement in the Malegaon blast, he said: “Going by terminology, the leaders of the Congress have been calling Satwant and Beant Singh, “Sikhs”, Afzal Guru, “a Muslim”. And, now, they have invented a new word “Hindu terror”. So it''s a history of the Congress to communalize the terrorism,” said Shahnawaz Hussain, who is also the President of BJP''s Minority Cell.

BJP and industrialists discuss impact of global crisis on economy

New Delhi, Nov 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that India needs to restore economic confidence hit by the global credit crisis by helping struggling industries, boosting infrastructure spending and dramatically improving governance.

BJP''s senior leaders including leader in parliament Lal Krishna Advani held a meeting with industrialists to have a better understanding of the impact of the global crisis on the Indian economy.

During the meeting, Advani said that India was facing a serious economic crisis as it heads into elections in 2009.

BJP leader Yashwant Singh said the economy could take a hit if the government did not manage its finances properly.

Vijay Jolly offers prayers for victory
