Advani meets corporate leaders

Advani meets corporate leaders BJP’s senior leader and NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate, L.K. Advani stressed the need to take hard steps for country’s economic growth. He warned that India can face meltdown, causing large scale lay-offs following the impact of the global slowdown. India needs stern actions and willpower to bring the situation to normal level. He was speaking in a meeting with top corporate leaders to discuss impact of global slowdown. 

Global slowdown has impacted all section of the society. Indian middle class and poor section of society is feeling uncertainty and insecurity following fear of job loss. Advani asked for integrated development of agriculture, small and large industry, financial sector, manufacturing services and informal sector for strong financial health of the country. He asked to use crisis as an opportunity for strong economy.

Industry players apprised him regarding the credit crunch, high interest rates, rupee depreciation, slow demand and other problems faced by industry in the wake of the global financial crisis.

The meeting was attended by Bajaj Auto’s Rahul Bajaj; Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani; Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group’s Chairman, Anil Ambani; Essar’s Shashi Ruia; Bharat Forge’s Baba Kalyani; Jaiprakash Industries’ Chairman, J.P. Gaur; Assocham president Sajjan Jindal; and FICCI president and MP, Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
