Police foil bombing plot of London Eye and MI6 headquarters

Police foil bombing plot of London Eye and MI6 headquartersLondon, Apr. 1 : Police have foiled a plot to bomb the London Eye and MI6 headquarters, according to The Sun.

Terrorists tested security by leaving two bags outside the intelligence service building on the Thames at Vauxhall and another at the giant ferris wheel on the South Bank.

But the bags - containing small metal weights - were spotted at both iconic targets. The London Eye was evacuated.

Specialist officers from the Met's Counter-Terrorism Command have stepped up armed patrols and vehicle checks in an operation codenamed Rainbow.

The terror threat assessment has been upgraded to "severe". (ANI)
