PM to meet top corporate leaders before G20 summit

PM to meet top corporate leaders before G20 summitPrime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh would hold a meeting with the industry leaders and associates on Monday. The meeting is aimed to review the impact of global financial crisis on Indian economy and prepare India's stance at forthcoming G20 Summit.

Leading corporate personalities such as Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Sunil Mittal, Deepak Parikh and others would apprise the PM about problems faced by the industry in the wake of global meltdown. They may seek help to ease high interest rates, overnight lending rates and credit crunch from the government to get desired growth target.

The Presidents of CII, FICCI and Assocham, K.V. Kamath, Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Sajjan Jindal would also attend the meeting.

PM is going to attend G-20 summit at Washington called by the US president to discuss global financial crisis. Leaders of other countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union would also attend the G20 summit to deliberate over world's financial crisis.
