Planning Commission approves Haryana’s Rs 27,072cr plan outlay for 2013-14The Planning Commission of India on Monday approved Haryana's annual plan of Rs 27,072 crore for the financial year 2013-14.

The plan was finalized by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Yojana Bhawan in New Delhi.

Excluding the state's public-sector enterprises and local bodies, the Net State Plan outlay is at Rs 18,000 crore, which represents an increase of 24 per cent from net outlay of Rs 14,500 crore in the previous financial year.

An amount of Rs 7,513 crore will be spent on public sector enterprises, while another Rs 1,559 crore will be spent on local bodies. These funds will be met from these bodies' own resources.

After the approval of the plan, Mr. Hooda said that Haryana has just 1.3 per cent area of India, but it is contributing around 3.4 per cent to the country's gross domestic product.

Speaking on the topic, Mr. Hooda added, "The average economic growth rate of the state during last eight years has been 9.3 per cent, which is higher than the growth rate of national economy."

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is preparing to meet Mr. Montek on 4th of June to finalize the plan size of expenditure for the state for 2013-14. The draft Plan size has been increased from last fiscal's Rs 17,250 crore to Rs 21,467 crore for 2013-14.
