Plagiarism Charges Levied Against The Producers Of ‘Golmaal Returns’Latest Bollywood blockbuster ‘Golmaal Returns’ finds itself in an uneasy situation.

Shakuntala Bhatia, the owner of Kiron Production, has levied plagiarism charges against the producers of ‘Golmaal Returns’ with the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA).

After charging a compensation of Rs 50 million from the producers of ‘Golmaal Returns’, Bhatia claimed that the latest film, directed by Rohit Shetty, is a direct copy of ‘Aaj Ki Taza Khabar’, starring Kiran Kumar, Radha Saluja and Asrani.

Shakuntala Bhatia is the wife of Rajendra Bhatia, the producer of ‘Aaj Ki Taza Khabar’ released in 1973.

Bhatia said that she was in the process of re-making "Aaj Ki Taza Khabar".

"Golmaal Returns” is produced under the banner of Ashtavinayak Films Cine Vision Ltd.

‘Golmaal Returns’ starring Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora was released on October 29 last month. The film has performed well both at domestic and overseas market. According to Indian Films, the owner of the movie rights, the multi-star film has already piled nearly Rs.450 million and $10 million from the domestic and overseas market respectively.
