Bhubaneswar, Aug 27 : Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Wednesday said he would review why the violence in Kandhmal District of Orissa could not be contained so far.

After arriving here for assessing the situation in the communally sensitive district, Jaiswal said: "There is no sign of violence subsiding in Kandhmal even though three days have passed since the killing of Swami Laxmananda Saraswati."

He further said both Prime Minister and Home Minister are worried over the situation at Kandhamal and the Centre is ready to rush more forces to bring the situation under control

Ahmedabad, July 26 : Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Saturdaycondemned the serial blasts in Ahmedabad, describing it as a planned mode of spreading panic across the country.

“All our Metros have lots of people, and it is not possible to have a police presence in every part of the city or cities,” Jaiswal said.

“Terrorists and those behind such heinous crimes are taking advantage of this, but the Government is determined to take firm measures to counter this menace in every way possible,” he added.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh too has condemned this cowardly act.

Kanpur, July 25 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sriprakash Jaiswal today said that the Centre had forewarned the Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh governments about Bangalore and Hyderabad being possible terrorist targets.

“The Intelligence Bureau had received inputs that terrorists could target the cybercities of Hyderabad and Bangalore. Both the state governments were told to be on high alert,” he said.

Jaiswal said the main aim of the serial blasts in Bangalore was to “spread terror.”

The Centre is in touch with the state government and ready to offer all possible help, he added.
