Washington, April 14: Scarlett Johansson has denied going on a punishing exercise regime and strict diet to shed pounds for her role as the `Black Widow' in the forthcoming Iron Man sequel.
In a blog posted on the website Huffington Post, the actress clarified speculation about her recent weight loss.
The actress insists she has simply been eating balanced meals and increasing her amount of physical activity to get in shape.
"Since dedicating myself to getting into ''superhero shape'', several articles regarding my weight have been brought to my attention," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

In recent months, Johansson showed off a more streamlined figure, having previously maintained she was proud of her curves.
Her weight loss sparked speculation that actress is on a crash-diet to keep up with slimmer Hollywood stars.
However, Johansson has laughed off such rumours, insisting that her new slimmed down look is the result of getting in shape for her role as the Black Widow in the upcoming `Iron Man' sequel.
London, Apr 7 : Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly shedding her famous curves, as she is following a diet plan for a new role.
The `North' actress has reportedly lost over 14 pounds, after she began working out with Gywneth Paltrow's trainer Tracy Anderson, in a bid to shape up for Iron Man 2.
"The pair have been doing daily workouts with Gwyneth's personal trainer Tracy Anderson," the Sun quoted a source as saying.
"Scarlett is also staying away from carbohydrates," the source added.
Scarlett reportedly decided to cut few extra pounds after she felt leaner actresses might bag her roles.
