Kolkata, Apr 25: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Saturday blamed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assissination.
"The LTTE is banned. It is a terrorist organisation personally responsible for killing my father," Rahul said during a `Meet the Press' programme here.
When asked about the Sri Lankan crisis, Rahul Gandhi said India is concerned about the plight of Tamil civilians.
New Delhi, Apr. 25 : Congress party general secretary Rahul Gandhi is an institution builder like his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, claims his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Revealing this aspect of Rahul's personality to NDTV during an interview, Priyanka also said that her brother was right in consistently saying that he is not ready to be Prime Minister, even if that post were to be offered to him in the near future.
Kolkata, Apr 25 : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that if asked, he would refuse to take up the Prime Ministership as he does not have adequate "experience" to hold the post right now.
Addressing a press conference here along with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the 39-year-old leader said, "Now ... I would refuse. I do not think I have the experience to be the Prime Minister of the country right now."
Purulia (West Bengal), Apr 24: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the fight against underdevelopment in the country is more important than fighting terrorism.
“It is true that fight against terrorism is important, but it is more important to fight underdevelopment in India,” Rahul Gandhi said at an election rally here.
Gandhi also said that 40 percent of the funds allotted by the Central Government to the state remained unutilised.
Guwahati, Lucknow, Bhopal, Apr 19 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh respectively today.
During her visit, Sonia Gandhi will address election meetings at Allahabad, Faizabad and Lucknow.
Rahul is scheduled to address a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district, which will go to poll on April 23. .
Panna district comes under Khajuraho Lok Sabha seat.
Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 16 : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said his party would come back to power again at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing an election rally here, Gandhi said the Congress always determined to meet the expectations of the masses.
"The Congress has launched many welfare schemes like the `Rajiv Arogya Shri' and rice at Rs. two per kilogram," he added.
