Queen elizabeth IINew York, December 17 : Queen Elizabeth has reportedly set yet another example to beat the economic slump by asking her staff to turn off the lights in empty rooms of Buckingham Palace.

According to British news outlets, the monarch is to continue her efforts to show support through recession and had allegedly ordered chefs to reuse leftovers from banquets.

The Royal had previously urged her grandsons to avoid any public displays of extravagance amid growing unemployment and economic strife, reports the New York Post.
