Nepal to discuss Saptakoshi flood situation with Indian Government

Pushpa Kamal DahalKathmandu, Sept 1 : Nepal’s Prime Minister Prachanda today said that the Government will be discuss with the Indian Government about the problems caused by the Saptakoshi floods.

During a meeting with the representatives of the Morang Commerce and Industries Association here, Prachanda said the Government has been carrying out serious discussions with the Indian government in this regard.

Nepal keen on restoring peace and economic development

Kathmandu, Sept 1 : Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal DahalNepal’s Prime Minister Prachanda has said restoring peace, economic development and formulation of a new Constitution are the main challenges for the new government.

Speaking at an economic summit on ''Double Digit Growth: A National Commitment'' organized by Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) here on Sunday, Prachanda said, "We are committed to bring the peace process to a logical conclusion within six months and the new Constitution will have to be drafted in two years, then we will concentrate on economic development."

Prachanda to induct UML in Government

Prachanda to induct UML in GovernmentKathmandu, Aug 28 : Nepal’s Prime Minister Prachanda today said that he will initiate the process to expand his cabinet by inducting the ministers from Unified Marxist Leninist (UML).

The two party meeting is expected to resolve the conflict over the hierarchy in the Maoist-led government and to end the formation of the cabinet.

On Wednesday, Prachanda agreed to the UML''s demand during a meeting with senior UML leader Bam Dev Gautam.

Nepal PM says he would take first political visit to India

Kathmandu, Pushpa Kamal DahalAugust 27 : Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday said he would go to India for his first political visit after taking charge of the PM office.

He further clarified that his China visit was not of political nature as he had gone there to take part in Olympics closing ceremony.

Dahal tried to clear up the speculations regarding his going to China as his maiden foreign tour, as there is a tradition of visiting India first by a newly elected Nepali Prime Minister.

According to Kantipur, he said that India should not take his China visit otherwise as it was not political.

Prachanda to meet Chinese President

Kathmandu, Aug 24 : Prachanda to meet Chinese PresidentNepal''s Prime Minister Prachanda will meet Chinese President Hu Jintao in Beijing today.

Prachanda who has reached Beijing on Saturday to attend the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games will also meet Chinese premier Wen Jiabao.

According to sources, Prachanda will attend the luncheon hosted by Jiabao in honor of visiting heads of State and Government.

He will meet senior leaders of Chinese Communist Party on Monday.

Nepal PM Prachanda pledges Panchsheel ties with neighbours

Addressing the nation for the first time after becoming the prime minister, Dahal stressed that stability cannot be ensured with effort of a side.
