Washington, Feb 13 : British actress Kate Winslet has revealed that she had no idea how much her role in blockbuster movie Titanic had made her famous, until she met a half-blind man in the Himalayas.

Winslet, who starred in the movie alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1997, was on a walking trip around the Indian mountain range when an aged local man approached her.

Washington, Feb 12: Hollywood actress Kate Winslet feared that she was not capable enough to pull off her Oscar nominated role in The Reader.

The 33-year-old actress won over critics with her role of a Nazi concentration camp guard who has an affair with a 15-year-old boy.

Her efforts have already been recognised by BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards, and the actress is tipped to win the Best actress gong at the Academy Awards.

Washington, Feb 12 : Brit actress Kate Winslet has revealed that she has such a close relationship with actor Leonardo DiCaprio that she would willingly allow him to physically hurt her during a scene.

Winslet and DiCaprio had worked together for the first time in the 1997 blockbuster `Titanic', and they got together again in the Sam Mendes directed movie `Revolutionary Road'.

The actress also shares an off-screen friendship with DiCaprio, which she has dubbed as `rare', and says she would go to any length with him to make the movie perfect.

Melbourne, Feb 9 : British actress Kate Winslet says that she has learnt to love her bum.

The 33-year-old star, who has struggled with her weight since she was a teen, said that she has learnt to like the "blemishes" she exposes in The Reader's controversial nude scenes.

"I don''t know a single woman who doesn''t stand up and check the tush before she walks out the door," the Daily Telegraph quoted Winslet as saying.

Berlin  - Playing love scenes is never easy, Oscar-nominated actress Kate Winslet told a Berlin Film Festival press conference Friday.

"It is not something one particularly enjoys," said the 33-year-old British actress, but she said "sometimes it is part of the job. I just get on with it."

Winslet was speaking following the screening at the Berlin Film Festival of The Reader in which she plays Hanna Schmitz, an older woman who has a passionate affair with a teenager, Michael Berg in Germany during the late 1950s.

Washington, Feb 4 : She may be touted as the most deserving Oscar candidate this year, but Kate Winslet is so used to missing out on the Academy Awards that she has her "losing face" perfected.

Last month, the actress became the sixth-time nominee for the Oscar in the Best Actress category for her role in The Reader.

And if she fails to win this time round as well, she'll join the list of the biggest losers in Academy Award history.
