PCB Wants Good Relations With BCCI

Newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Buttsaid that he wants to have good relations with the influential Indian cricket board.

Addressing the media persons here on Friday, Butt said that if Pakistan wants to remain strong in the International Cricket Council (ICC), then it would have to seek the help of BCCI. He is expected to meet the new president of the Indian Board Shashank Manohar on the sidelines of the ICC executive board meeting in Dubai next week.

He is quite optimistic that his meeting with the Indian president would be productive for the cricket of Pakistan.

Speaking on the proposed India tour of Pakistan early next year, he hoped that the security conditions would improve. Along with three tests and five ODI’s, India would also play a Twent20 match in Pakistan next year.

"I am confident because India was one of the few countries, which insisted the Champions Trophy must be held in Pakistan on schedule and teams should accept security assurances of the Pakistan Board and government," he stated.

Due to the security reasons in Pakistan, ICC has postponed the Australia's Test tour and the Champions Trophy earlier this year.
