PCB eyeing lucrative earnings from television rightsThe Pakistan Cricket Board is optimistic to earn huge money from the sale of television rights despite tough global financial conditions. The board has decided to sell TV rights next week. However, the board has not decided about the reserve prices for interested parties.

The board aims to get around $120 million from the sale for the next four and half years as per the reports of sources close to the development.

PCB is optimistic of good gathering for India Pakistan match proposed next year and more parties would approach board for telecasting rights. Team India is scheduled to tour Pakistan in January-February to play a side game, three Tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 but it may be cancel following security reasons.

Earlier, Dubai based Ten Sports channel paid a sum of $48 million from 2004 to 2008 for TV rights and board earned more than expected money amid ground breaking tour of Indian team in 2004. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief operating officer, Salim Altaf said security can affect the prospects of forthcoming matches but board would do its best to hold all matches as per schedule..
