Pakistan stops Ghulam Ali's India visit
In a significant development, Pakistan had stopped the visit of famous Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali to India.
Ghulam Ali was scheduled to visit eight cities of India and perform there.
The ghazal maestro was to kick-off his umpteenth India visit - this time with Bihar's Rajgir Mahotsava on Saturday.
After this sudden development Ghulam Ali told an Indian English daily over phone that, "Hum sadme mein hain. Hamein roka gaya hai (I am traumatised. I have been stopped from travelling)."
Ali had a visa to travel to India but a call from a Pakistani official, whom he did not name, advised him against going ahead with the tour. Ali did not want to share details of the call.
The soulful singer expressed anguish at the sudden eruption of hostility. "What can I do? I am sitting at home. I am helpless," he said. "Haalaat theek nahi hain (the scenario isn't good)," the paper reported.
