Oz quicks planning to 'bore' Pietersen into 'rash shots' by bowling 'wide line out'

Kevin-PietersenMelbourne, Nov 18 : Australian fast bowlers are reportedly planning to frustrate explosive England batsman Kevin Pietersen and contain him by bowling a wide line out and 'bore' him into playing rash shots.

Peter Siddle, who has dismissed Pietersen a record seven times in Test cricket, will be a key man in the blueprint to bowl wide of Pietersen's body and attempt to use his rampant ego against him.

According to Telegraph. com. au, Australia is aware that the South-African born player likes to feel bat on ball early in his innings and assert his brute force on rival bowlers and has thus carefully studied Siddle's seven dismissals of Pietersen, dating back to the 2009 Ashes series, and have discovered five have been either caught behind or in slips.

The report mentioned that the dismissals have generally come when Pietersen has been driving hard or loosely at a ball away from his body, and Siddle and the rest of Australia's pace battery are confident that they can take away the fun from Pietersen's 100th Test celebrations at the Gabba.

Siddle said that he has bowled successfully against Pietersen the last couple of times, adding that although it is always a tough contest to play against Pietersen, they can spoil the series for the player if they keep building the pressure on him.

The report mentioned that even though Australia lost the Ashes 3-0 in England earlier this year, they managed to contain Pietersen to a series average of 38 with just one century from five Tests.

Australia's quicks will rarely focus on knocking Pietersen's stumps over in Australia this winter, instead relying on bowling away from him and drying up his run flow to torment him, the report added. (ANI)
