ONGC’s plant meets target as it goes for acquisitions
Oil and Natural Gas Commission's (ONGC) Tripura unit has crossed all the records in producing and selling of gas and well drillings. The unit has been able to do so in just nine months of the financial year of 2009-19. This was declared by the officials of ONGC on Thursday.
ONGC has also made a discovery of gas pool in Sundalbari in South Tripura.
The actual production of gas by Tripura unit was 421.038 Million Metric Standard Cubic Metre (MMSCM) as against the set target of 368.805 MMSCM from the time period between April 1 and December 1 of 2009.
As for the gas, the target was 367.962 MMSCM but the actual production of 420.060 MMSCM. This gas was sold in the time period mentioned above.
The company was able to meet the target of drilling six wells and was able to build 120 reservoirs. The target for reservoirs was 85.
In another development it was found that the company is looking forward to buy oil-sand assets in Canada.
It is looking for acquisition of a field that produces 10,000 barrels a day of heavy oil. The total worth of this will be nothing less than $1 billion.
