Now TVS Motors eyes Karnataka

TVS-MotorAfter Hero Honda showed interest in establishing its fourth unit in the Karnataka state, it's the south Indian based TVS Motors which is also in preliminary talks with the government officials for establishing an engine manufacturing plant.

State's Major and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R. Nirani have recently confirmed the fact that the state officials will discuss the matter with the company on the 13th of March. The discussion is supposed to be focused on areas like the investment, location etc.

The minister further added the fact that the officials are already in discussion with Mahindra & Mahindra to establish one of its units in Belgaum. It is estimated that the state contributes around $10 billion annually to the mammoth automotive industry. One of the major players operating in the state is Tata Marcopolo which manufactures buses in the region.

Tatas along with this JV with Marcopolo manufactures low-floor buses which the company supplies to the Government. In fact, the state has organised an automotive expo in Bangalore which is expected to bring together automakers, ancillaries and accessories manufacturers, overseas equipment manufacturers and automotive aftermarket under one roof.
