The Indian industrialists and even the multinational companies are now planning to move towards the north east region of the country to explore more opportunities to grow and expand their operations even further.
Recently, a meeting was organised in Assam, where in the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi invited several conglomerates to the state to explore the up and downside of the state. The key names among the people invited were Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Group, Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman & MD, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance's Mukesh Ambani, M S Banga of Unilever, Naina Lal Kidwai, CEO, HSBC India, SBI Chairman O P Bhatt, Bharti's Chairman Sunil Mittal, Swati Piramal, Chairman, Piramal Healthcare and Venugopal Dhoot, Chairman of Videocon.
While many of them were surprised by the growth the region has made over the past few years, many candidly admitted that there was still a lot of scope for growth even further.
