The shares of the company fell the most in a period of 18 months after the retailer forecast lower profit for the fourth quarter than expected by market analysts.  Its net income was recorded at $237.2 million, or $1.12 a share during the third quarter till 30 November, 2013, Bed Bath & Beyond said in a statement.

US jobless benefit claims falls to 330,000According to the latest figures released, the total number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits from the state fell 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 330,000 during the previous week.

The figures released by the Labor Department also showed that the more stable four-week average fell to 9,750 to 349,000.  Experts have said that there are no indication that snow and freezing weather across the country affected the figures.

The company admitted in the federal court that it was involved in the bribery case that was to win a contract to supply deal that was part of a scheme involving an elaborate system of shell companies and a consultant.  The deal resulted in nearly a half-billion dollars in profits for the Alcoa's company during the four year period.

Parrot unveils rolling MiniDrone and Jumping Sumo

Parro SumoDrone-maker Parrot lengthened its robotic lineup by adding two new robotic machines to it - the MiniDrone and the Jumping Sumo.

Unveiled at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the MiniDrone is a small quadcopter capable of flying in the air while the Jumping Sumo is a two-wheeled robot that is more suited for the ground.

The MiniDrone has numerous sensors that ensure its stability in the air as users control it using a smartphone or tablet PC via Bluetooth Low Energy. This quadcopter can pull off loops and follow some autopilot commands. It also has an embedded camera.
