BHEL Electrifies On Heavy-Duty Order

Bharat Heavy ElectricalsBharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) climbed up 3.42% to Rs 1771 on reports that it gained Rs 2900-crore agreement for constructing three 500-megawatt units in northern India.

In the meantime, the BSE Sensex was up 175.78 to 15,483.76 chasing firm international markets. Asian stocks also jumped accompanying a third session of gains on Wall Street, as troubles about worldwide credit problems continued to relieve.

ISRO To Construct Nano-Satellite Platform

G Madhavan NairBangalore: ISRO chief said that next year India’s space group will instigate a special platform to put into space small satellites fulfilling the requirements of rising countries and the domestic technical community.

ISRO chairman, G Madhavan Nair said that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is building up a 100-kg “satellite bus” as demand has picked up for establishing nano-satellites.

No Discrimination In Dealing With Mumbai Blast Accused, Says SC

New Delhi: Supreme Court agreed to take up on Friday the bail plea of Aziz Ahmed Mohammad Shaikh, who is convicted for 5 years under TADA. Court assures that there won’t be any discrimination in dealing with the Mumbai bomb blasts accused.     

A three-member bench headed by Justice B N Aggarwal gave the assurance after Ahmed’s counsel fighting Sanjay Dutt’s case appealed that no discrimination can be showed in granting bail to accused persons.

Oil & Gasoline Prices Edge Downward

Oil and GasOil and gas futures fell on Wednesday after a governmental announcement displayed an unforeseen slump in refinery action and big declines in oil and gasoline stocks. Oil and gas futures jumped at once after the report’s release, and then traded volatile for the whole day.

For next monthe delivery, light, sweet crude delivery descended 27 cents to USD 72.15 per barrel on the NYMEX, and the gasoline came down 0.65 cent to USD 1.9377 each gallon.
