SpaceX, the American Aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company for the first time will be attempting to safely land a discarded rocket on earth. The landing will take place on dry land, said company experts.

The company owned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously aimed to land the used rockets on a floating platform, but its attempt ended into a failure. This time Falcon 9 will be launch again from the Cape Canaveral base, but the date of the launch has not been specified yet.

“If successful, it would mark not only the first successful landing and recovery of the company’s flagship rocket, but also the first terrestrial rocket landing for SpaceX after two failed landing attempts at sea”, reported Fortune.

The Chinese company behind newly proposed cattle cloning factory, which is all ready to become the biggest of its type in the world, said that it is looking forward to expand its work to start cloning humans also.

China is not the sole nation working hard to produce cloned beef to enhance food supplies for the growing population of the world. Though, European Union leaders have raised concerns regarding the practice and have taken step to prohibit cloned meat products’ sale, the US FDA declared in 2008 that ‘meat and milk from cow, pig, and goat clones and the offspring of any animal clones were as safe to eat as food that we consume every day’. However, the probability of creating human clones is quite contested across the world.

On Thursday, the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, attempted to rage expectations for the ongoing climate talks outside of Paris. He recommended negotiators to not make the perfect an enemy of the good.

On a brief stop at headquarters prior to returning to France, he told reporters, “There is no perfect agreement. But our goal is clear: an agreement that truly addresses climate change, and puts the world on track for long-term prosperity, stability and peace. That is what the days ahead in Paris can and must deliver”.

During most of his tenure, Mr. Ban has tried to push for a climate agreement. He will soon start his final year as secretary general. Securing a pact in France has been seen by many as vital to his legacy.

On Thursday during a meeting in Washington, an international group of scientists has called for an immediate halt on the researches that aim to make some inheritable changes in the human genome.

The biologists said till the time the risks associated with the technique called Crispr-Cas9 are not specified it will be irresponsible on their part to promote it. They cannot approve it until they completely assess it and have a broad societal consensus about the appropriateness of any proposed change.

The group said such a work might proceed in future where the experts will have advanced knowledge on making permanent changes to the human genome that will be revised on the daily basis.

A latest study has suggested that over 17,000 marine species in the world are mostly unprotected. The US is at the bottom among nations in sustaining formal marine protected areas (MPAs) that may protect marine biodiversity.

The study, published in international journal Scientific Reports, is the first comprehensive assessment of protected regions coverage on marine life. The study authors analyzed the ranges of around 17,348 species of marine life such as sharks rays, whales and fish, and discovered that 97.4% have less than 10% of their range represented in MPA’s. The countries that reported highest number of ‘gap species’ or species, whose range was totally beyond protected areas were the US, Brazil and Canada.

Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) have baffled scientists since they were first detected about 10 years ago. A new study has found first real clue on origin story on the energetic, seemingly random bursts. Nature published study has suggested that the mysterious pulses most likely come from an area of dead or newborn stars.

Since the discovery of the pulses in 2007, only 16 FRBs have been recorded, but astronomers think they may occur many times every day. Origin of the pulses was a big question for astronomers since the first recorded pulse. According to the new study, region dense with either the birth or death of stars could be the origin spot.
