Royal Mail and postal union have decided to lift the restriction on the number of junk mails that postmen could deliver. The change will be implemented only if it is approved by vote by its members.

Royal Mail and the postal union have ended a dispute on Monday over the pay structure that had resulted in a number of strikes by its staff.

Junk mail is a good source of income for Royal mail and it has been trying to lift that restriction from some time. Royal mail had suspended a postman in 2006 after he suggested ways to people to opt out of the junk mails.

The operator of the London Eye and Alton Towers, Merlin Entertainments announced yesterday that it may come out with an Initial public offering by the end of June. The company withdrew plan for a £2billion IPO last month due to investor worries over volatility in the equity markets.

The chief executive of Merlin, Nick Varney said, "We have made no secret that an IPO is one of the options for Merlin."
