A U.S. survey has indicated that of the underemployed who have insurance, 52 percent receive coverage through a government program.

The Gallup tracking poll also indicates that by contrast, 76 percent of employed workers have insurance through an employer or a union.

Gallup says in a statement that if the underemployed are more able to purchase healthcare insurance in the future, they likely will be able to increase preventative behaviors such as visiting a doctor or a dentist.
