News Corp to charge for access to online UK newspapers

News-CorpNews Corp. announced that the company has decided to charge the readers of its online British newspapers The Times and Sunday Times newspapers. The company said that the online readers have to pay £1 for the access of one day or £2 for a week from June.

News International Ltd., European division of News Corp., said that in early May the separate Web sites of The Times and Sunday Times will be launched.

Stanley Gibbons profit up by 11% in FY 2009

Canadian firm OTPP acquires Camelot

OTPP-CamelotCamelot, the operator of the UK National Lottery, announced that it has agreed to sell the company to a Canadian pension fund Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for an estimated £389 million. However, the deal needs to be cleared by the National Lottery Commission. OTPP offered to buy Camelot last month.

UK monthly house prices down 0.3% in February

House-PriceMonthly house prices in UK fell 0.3% in the month of February, the Land Registry said on Friday. This was reported as the first decline in average house prices in past 10 months.

While comparing on a year-on-year basis, the house prices were reported up by 7% in the month of February. On annual basis, this was reported the fourth month in a row when house prices reportedly increased.

Yusuf Pathan accuses Andrew Symonds of sledging
