Planning to introduce solar energy in the state capital, Tripura government is making a report to make use of the alternate form of energy and thus making it mandatory for usage.

Joy Gobinda Debroy, Tripura Science, Technology and Environment Minister said, "We have decided to make solar energy provision mandatory in buildings to make Agartala a solar city to keep it free from environmental pollution".

GAIL India, said on Monday, that it is going to invest as much as Rs. 15,000 crore for laying new pipelines. This investment would be done within the period of two to three years.

The state-owned gas firm is going for these pipelines since it wants to connect the consumption centers in North India to the gas sources.

B C Tripathi, the CMD of the company made this announcement during a meet organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that the pipelines will connect cities within Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab and Haryana.

On Monday, the Supreme Court (SC) allowed the stay order on the Reddy brothers' mining operations to be extended. These operations are going on in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Besides this, the SC has also directed the Survey of India (SoI) officials to submit their reports by April 22. This happened after the Reddy brothers were said to have encroached two mines.

The case was filed against the Reddy brothers and also the SoI. The panel from SoI had cleared a 68.5 hectare iron-ore mine project. It said in its report that there was no encroachment done.

The effect of global warming is causing a havoc on the residents of Himachal Pradesh especially Shimla with the temperature soaring an ever-high, i. e. above normal with the Mercury level in Queen of the Hills reporting at 27 degrees Celsius.

The climatic conditions tumbled as the night temperature in the capital town was 16.9 degrees.

Areas such as Sundernagar recorded a maximum of 36.8 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 35 degrees, Dharamsala (32.8) and Una (40.6) during this phase of the year, according to the forecasts from the Met department.
