Beck's childhood home attracts offers of a million quid
London, Nov.18 (ANI): A house in which former England captain David Beckham lived in as a baby has attracted offers of a million pounds.
The modest three-bedroomed mid-terrace property in Leytonstone, north east London, is just a stone''s throw away from a busy dual carriageway and a railway line, reports The Telegraph.
While similar houses in the area normally sell for around 250,000 pounds, brand Beckham seems to have worked its magic. An unnamed Australian, who is a fan of Beckham has said that he is ready to offer a seven-figure sum for the property.
Colin Evans, a local businessman, found the piece of sporting history while researching a book on famous people from Leytonstone. He knocked on the door and surprised the current owners with the news.
"At first they weren''t too happy, and didn''t know if I was telling the truth or not, but they did their own research, found out I was and contacted me. They were very moved when they found out, and they made me the sole agent for the sale," he said.
The 33-year-old LA Galaxy star is currently in the US, having failed to make the England team for Wednesday''s friendly against Germany in Berlin.
Beckham's UK spokesman confirmed the family lived there when he was a baby. (ANI)
