‘Roadside Romeo’ Not Much Of A Treat For The Viewers

‘Roadside Romeo’ Not Much Of A Treat For The ViewersJugal Hansraj have recently made his directorial debut with ‘Roadside Romeo’. This movie being an animated one was mainly catered for children but alas a poor response was seen with meager 25- 30% collection across the nation on its opening day though it picked up on the weekends.

This Yash Raj venture was made in collaboration with Walt Disney and while it promised to present an animated movie of international standards, it failed to impress the Indian audiences as the theme was the age old bollywood romantic one with audience catching not much of Kareena in Laila’s character and not totally impressed by Saif and other voice overs.

One could catch some crowd thronging multiplexes while single screen halls continued to run empty. With now multiplexes running it only for 5 days a week as the halls have to cater to the incoming mega starrer ‘Fashion’ and ‘Golmaal returns’, further aggravates the problem. Therefore the low success rate cannot be fully attributed to the film but also to the wrong timings Yash Raj banner chose for its release.
