Chandrayan-I brings great cheer to residents of Mogltur Village in Andhra Pradesh
Mogaltur (Andhra Pradesh), Oct. 22 : Residents of Mogaltur Village in Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh are proud of themselves since one of their fellow residents is today in news for contributing to the launch of Chandrayan-I.
M. Y. S. Prasad, who hails from this village, is in the news today as the Associate Director of Indian Space Research Organisation at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota from where India''s maiden mission to the moon was launched.
Prasad has been actively involved in the launch of Chandrayaan-I which was successfully launched just prior to dawn today (October 22).
"I am very happy that my friend and classmate is the Associate Director of Satish Dhawan Space Centre. He and his achievement have brought glory for the whole village. All of us are very happy at his achievement. He always had been a very studious boy. His father Rama Suryanarayn was a very renowned name in this whole village. We wish that many other children from this village will follow the footsteps of M. Y. S. Prasad," said Shankarnarayan Rao, a resident of Mogaltur village.
Mogaltur incidentally also happens to be the home to Telugu film stars Cheeranjivi and Krishnam Raju.
Film star Cheeranjivi was also in the news recently after his foray into the political arena and founded ‘Praja Rajyam’, a party, which is hoped to change many political equations in Andhra Pradesh. He launched this party at Tirupati in the last week of August. (ANI)
