Heavy rains cause flooding in Spain

Jaen, Spain  - Heavy rains led to flooding Wednesday in the southern Spanish Jaen province, leaving streets under 70 centimetres of water in some places, emergency services said.

Floodwater inundated basements and garages in Torreblascopedro and other places, and cut road links.

In Sueca south of Valencia, a 70-year-old man died of a heart attack when his home was inundated on Tuesday. Police and firefighters rescued children from a schoolbus, from a nursery and a family from a car after they were cut off by the flooding. (dpa)
