Polish priest jailed for raping parishioner
Warsaw - A former priest in the Polish city of Czestochowa was sentenced to three years in jail Tuesday for raping a 20-year-old parishioner.
Krzysztof, 43, whose last name was withheld in accordance with Polish law, was reported to police in September 2006.
Another person was given six months and a fine for trying to convince the victim to withdraw the charges.
Czestochowa, in southern Poland, is famous for a monastery that houses a Black Madonna painting and is a destination for thousands of pilgrims each year. (dpa)
