MSTC to diversify into logistics and warehousing business: Paswan
Kolkata, Sept 9 : Union Minister of Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday urged the Metal Scrap Trading Corporation (MSTC) to play a more active role in making scrap, iron bearing raw materials, coke as well as semi-finished products of steel available and play its role in ensuring adequate production and availability of finished steel at a reasonable cost.
Paswan stated this today in Kolkata while speaking on the foundation day of MSTC.
The Minister congratulated the officers and staff of MSTC for achieving record turnover of Rs. 5000 crore in E-Commerce and hoped for further improvement in its rate of contribution to the public exchequer in the years to come.
Paswan said we need to change the perception about public sector in the country, which is already changing. Lauding MSTC’s role in the area of CSR he said this need to be projected.
MSTC is celebrating its foundation day by donating 400 tri-cycles to physically challenged persons of West Bengal. MSTC has also contributed to a number of organization working for rehabilitation of physically and mentally challenged persons.
The company also came forward to provide relief to the flood stricken people in the country and making efforts to help in the upliftment of the deprived section of the population. (ANI)
