Maruti Suzuki Vehicle Sales Up Marginally 1.09% In July’08
India’s giant car maker Maruti Suzuki India has posted marginal growth of 1.09% in its monthly sales of vehicles for July 2008.
Maruti sold 58,543 vehicles in July 2008, as compared to 57,909 vehicles sold during the corresponding period of the last year (July 2007).
In July 2008, the A3 segment, where Maruti Suzuki achieved leadership position during the last year, continued to show healthier growth, the A2 segment sales held ground regardless of the adverse macro economic situation.
Maruti’s volume in the domestic A3 sector climbed up by 36.80% as compared to the sales in July 2007.
Moreover, the company is proposing to launch ‘Maruti 800 Uniq’ in India with the intention to strengthen its oldest popular model Maruti 800 (M800),
For the new Maruti 800 `Uniq`, customers have to pay an extra cost of Rs 5,200, which is accessible in AC variants only, as compared to its regular M800 AC model of Rs 2,11,176.
The company has already dispatched its new offering nationwide, and will be available in company showrooms from August 4, 2008.
Maruti Suzuki has recently rolled out LPG variant of Maruti 800.
The company is eyeing enhancement in the sales of M800 with the launch of its new Maruti 800 Uniq.
On July 31, the Stock of Maruti Suzuki India marked its closure at Rs 574.90 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
