Kotak Mahindra Bank Stock Up, Leads ‘A’ Path Gainers
Kotak Mahindra bank climbed up 7.70% to Rs 768.05 and led BSE’s group ‘A’ shares. Its net earnings rose 99.4% to Rs 47.68 crore in Q1 June 2007 from Q1 June 2006. Operating income also jumped 93.9% to Rs 594.45 in Q1 June 2007. The company announced its quarterly results on 24 July 2007. The other gainers include India Cements, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Spice Communications and Federal Bank.
India Cements, which stood second among top gainers in ‘A’ group climbed 6.58% to Rs 217.20. The company’s net earnings increased 62.89% to Rs 183.40 crore in Q1 June 2007. Sales ascended 44.50% to Rs 701.18 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The company announced results on 30 July 2007.
GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals made a profit of 5.12% to Rs 1162 and placed on the third place among top gainers in ‘A’ group.
Spice Communications increase proportionally 5.03% to Rs 58.45 and stood fourth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. Spice Communications reported net earnings of Rs 0.42 crore on sales Rs 231.75 crore in Q2 June 2007. The company announced the results on 27 July 2007.
Federal Bank rose 4.67% to Rs 366.60 and came fifth among top gainers in ‘A’ group.
