Motorola Sues Ex-Executive For Disclosing Business Secrets to Apple

Motorola Inc. (MOT) has alleged one of it ex-executive of disclosing trade secrets to Apple. Former executive of Motorola, Mr. Michael Fenger is serving as an employ of Apple. He joined Apple as the vice president of global iPhone sales.

Motorola has filed a case against him for information leakage in an Illinois circuit court in Cook County. He served as the senior vice president of mobile devices for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for Motorola handsets. The company had an agreement of two years with him. He left Motorola in March and joined Apple by breaking the agreement.

According to Motorola, Fenger knew various confidential secrets of company which he leaked to Apple. The company seeks to bar him from working for Apple. It has also demanded $1 million back from stock options awards from Michael.

Apple Inc, on the other hand, denied the charges leveled by Motorola. The company official said that Motorola is not digesting the success of iphone as its smart phone, the Q, has failed in the market. Motorola has seen many ups and downs in the recent times like changes in its management, slumping sales and loss of market shares to rivals. It has also slipped behind No. 1 player Nokia Corp. (NOK) and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
