New Delhi: The Supreme Court has allowed the former girlfriend of underworld don Abu Salem and Bollywood actress, Monica Bedi to restart her film career.

A Bench of Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendran pronounced that Monica can travel and take part in her acting assignments in any part of country. She needs to inform the police about her film assignments before leaving her native village Chabbewal in Hoshiar Pur district of Punjab.  

Apex court granted her permission after she submitted that bail condition restraining her from leaving Hoshiarpur was acting as impediment to her film career.  

Monica claimed that numerous producers are offering her fresh films assignments especially from Hyderabad and Mumbai.  

“Yes, it would not be possible for her to obtain permission every time she leaves the place,” the bench observed, while accepting the Monica’s plea made through senior counsel K T S Tulsi.  

Monica Bedi was acquitted in passport forgery case in Bhopal and granted bail in similar case pending in Hyderabad by the Supreme Court that had asked her to remain in her village and not leave without permission.
