Girls outdo boys again ICSE 10th and 12th exams

CBSENew Delhi, May 20 I): Girls have outdone boys again in this year’s Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Indian Council for Secondary Education (CBSE).

The pass percentage this year has gone up by 0.08 percent in comparison to last year, with the topper in Class X securing 98.04 and the topper in Class XII securing 97.04.

The girl students were ahead of boys in both the classes, registering a pass percentage of 98.63 and 98.23 in Class X and Class XII respectively. The boys recorded a pass percentage of 97.57 and 96.10 respectively.

Janaki Kirit Sheth of the Smt. Sulochana Devi Singhania School in Thane and Shruti Singh of St Joseph Convent in Varanasi, who scored an aggregate of 98.6 per cent, were the toppers in Class X.

Gaurav Sood of Dehradun's Doon School emerged the topper in Class XII with 99 per cent marks.

A total of 1,01,998 students, including 44,732 girls, appeared for the Class X examinations, while the number of those who appeared for Class XII exams was 47,977, which included 21,106 girls.

In Class X, out of the 57,876 boys who appeared for the examinations, 55,874 were successful. Among 44,732 girls, 44,125 cleared the exam.

Out of the 26,871 Class XII boys, 25,824 cleared the examinations, while the figures for girls were 21,106 and 20,732 respectively. (ANI with inputs)
